Aug 15  GWS Summer Picnic and Swim Break   Come out to Sandy Beach Park at Lake Tobesofkee (just west of Macon) for an afternoon to relax on the beach.  We have rented the upper pavillion for the day, so plenty of shade overlooking the beach and water.  Plan on joining us for a late lunch at 2:00pm on Sunday.  They have a grill, so we will have burgers and hotdogs and ask everyone to bring a dish or drink to share.  The pavillion is rented from 9:00am - 6:30pm, so plan on making a day out of your visit!  Don't forget the swimwear, as that the beach is only a few yards away!  $3/person entry...sorry!   Map Questions?  Email Chris Bryson.

Sept 2 - 5  Sapelo Island   Head to the beach for a weekend of camping on secluded Sapelo Island.  Previous photos are here.   Limited to 20 participants, so sign up early!   Bud Queen will lead the trip.

Sept 10 - 12  Appalachian Trail Backpacking  Two nights on the trail.  Exact section in north Georgia to be announced by trip leader Joe Mangum.

Sept 17 - 19  Fort Mountain Camp & Jacks River Dayhike  Two nights camping at the group site at Fort Mountain State Park, with a dayhike in the Cohutta Wilderness Area to Jacks River Waterfall.  A great place for a picnic or photos!   Susan Bush has the details.

Oct 2 - 3  Oconee River   One night will be spent on the river as we paddle around the Balls Ferry area, near Milledgeville. Photos are here from a previous trip.  Joe Mangum will lead the trip.
